ATELIER

Anna Charlotte Atelier's rugs and textiles are handwoven or hand-knotted with close attention to material, rhythm, and place.

Working with traditional techniques, hand-spun yarns, and a material-led approach, the atelier favours natural fibres and low-impact processes. Subtle variations are embraced as part of the work, reflecting the human hand and the conditions of making.

Alongside the collection, bespoke rugs and textile elements are developed in dialogue, responding to space, atmosphere, and intention.

THE CREATIVE PROCESS

Every creation begins as a dialogue between material, texture, and colour.

In the atelier, ideas take shape through sketches, colour studies, and handwoven samples — a process guided by artistic intuition and a holistic understanding of space

WEAVING STUDIO

The weaving studio is rooted in traditional craftsmanship and a material-led approach to design.

Working closely with skilled artisans, Anna Charlotte Atelier values hand-spun yarns, natural fibres, and techniques refined through generations.

Each piece reflects a dialogue between craft, colour, and time.

MATERIAL

Anna Charlotte Atelier only uses the best natural fibers and hand- spun yarns with excellent quality and strength.

The warp is either cotton, flax, hemp, jute or wool. The weft is carefully selected and naturally dyed from the original recipes.

HANDKNOTTED RYA

The knotted rya rug has a long handknotted pile. The pattern is rarely detailed but receives its unique character from the yarn’s pile. In the “Aurora Borealis” collection, the beautiful rya texture is well presented.

HANDKNOTTED RELIEF PILE

The knotted relief pile includes both flatweave and knotted areas. The pile is hand knotted, and the woven background emerges between the relief pattern – the technique used in the rug design “Terroir”.

HANDKNOTTED

The handknotted rugs are individually crafted masterpieces, skillfully made by our artisans. The yarn is knotted around a vertical warp and fastened by hand into an individual knot.

HANDWOVEN

The Fjärden collection showcases the exquisite Scandinavian Röllakan technique. Woven to achieve a flawlessly flat surface by tightly interweaving the warp and weft strands.
